Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den gaming is illegal. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively small area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent spot, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital accrued from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; however, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are allegedly required to cross, there are methods around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred one armed bandits and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel compound that features a number of comforts on top of the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight tables.
