Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where casino gambling is illegal. Eight gambling halls are situated in a generally small location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent area, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; however, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 17:00, and although visas are allegedly required to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort.
