An Internet Betting Glossary
Even though the fact that web gambling is now a many billion dollar business, and countless thousands of new wagerers world-wide sign up daily to bet at online gambling dens, there are still millions of new players to the environment of internet betting who do not as yet have a good understanding of much of the terminology employed in internet wagering, and wagering on athletic event in general. However, knowledge of these terms is indispensable to understanding the games and regulations of play:
ACTION: Any style of wager.
ALL-IN: In poker, all-in means a player has risked all of his money into the pot. A side pot is developed for the bettors with additional chips.
ALL-UP: To bet on numerous horses in the same event.
ANTE: A poker phrase for allocating a required amount of money into the pot beforeevery hand starts.
BRING-IN: A necessary wager in 7-card stud made by the player displaying the smallest value card.
BUST: You do not win; As in chemin de fer, when a player’s cards total over twenty-one.
BUY-IN: The the least amount of money necessary to enroll in a match or event.
CALL: As in poker, when a wager is the same as an already carried out wager.
CHECK: In poker, to stay in the game and not wagering. This is applicable only if no other gamblers bet in that round.
CLOSING A BET: Like in spread wagering, meaning to lay a wager on par with but converse of the initial bet.
COLUMN BET: To wager on one or more of the 3 columns of a roulette game.
COME BET: In craps, the same as a pass-line wager, but made after the shooter has ascertained their point.
COME-OUT ROLL: A crapshooters initial toss to establish a number, or the 1st toss after a number has been established.
COVERALL: A bingo term, meaning to cover all the numbers on a bingo sheet.
CRAPPING OUT: In craps, to toss a two, three or 12 is an automatic loss on the come-out roll.
DAILY DOUBLE: To choose the champions of the first two races of the tournament.
DOWN BET: To bet that the result of an action will be lower than the lowest end of the quote on a spread bet, also known as a "sell".
DOZEN BET: In roulette, to wager on any of three categories of twelve numbers, one-twelve, etc.
EACH WAY BET: A sports gamble, meaning to gamble on a group or player to succeed or place in a game.
EVEN MONEY BET: A wager that pays the same amount as bet, ( 1:1 ).
EXACTA: Betting that 2 horses in an event will complete the race in the absolute same order as the bet – also known as a " Perfecta ".
FIVE-NUMBER LINE BET: In roulette, a wager placed on a grouping of 5 numbers, like 1-2-3-0, and 00.
